Francesca Maria Cantony is the main character and protagonist in the Sintopia animated television series Francesca and Stanley. She is a 12-year-old girl who is an older sister of Stanley Cantony. Like her younger brother, she loves modern technology and is an expert at them. Francesca is a very compassionate girl who is brave, sweet, and caring, much a bit opposite side between Stanley being jumpy, nervous, and cunning. Francesca cares about her brother Stanley very deeply because he can be irresponsible and unwilling when it comes to too much fun, even when inside the screens of modern electronic devices and in the real world, which she thinks it's a form of child endangerment.

Francesca is a 12-year-old girl of French–Italian descent. She is an older sister of Stanley and the daughter of Carolina and Bradley Cantony. She is in the sixth grade, attending Sugar Waters Middle School. As revealed in the episode "Flashback Gallery", Francesca and Stanley were born in Mylesville, a little town located in the Lake Erie coast of Pennsylvania. Her whole family moved to New World City in "A New House in a Big City". Francesca has a best friend named Elizabeth Twitchton.

Francesca is a slender young girl. She has black hair with parts of her hair dyed in yellow, green eyes with five hairs of eyelashes in each one, and fair skin, She wears a purple shirt with a blue peace symbol and a pink heart in the center, red knee-high socks, black shoes, blue jeans, and a black skirt. Her jewelry attire includes white duck-shaped earrings, black eyeshadows, yellow bracelets around her wrists, and a watch. In some episodes, for good luck, Francesca wears pink glasses when she and Stanley travels inside the screens of electronic devices.

Francesca Cantony is an extremely decent, elegant and sensitive girl. She is compassionate, brave, sweet, caring, optimistic, fun, trustworthy, smart, helpful, thoughtful, self-discipline, kind, and nice.
Throughout the series, Francesca cares a lot very deeply about her brother Stanley. One of the reasons why is because Stanley can be irresponsible and unwilling when it comes to too much fun, even when inside the screens of modern electronic devices and in the real world, which leads Francesca thinking that whatever bad and dangerous happens to Stanley, she is responsible for what she thinks is considered child endangerment. On the polar side, when someone else causes Stanley's pain and suffering, she claims them responsible, which makes her furious and violent in some ways, like in the third-season episode "Finding Stanley", when Gideon Hills sent Stanley to a different computer with a file transfer application, Francesca holds Gideon captive as her prisoner with the help from Mr. and Mrs. Cursor, Enternet, Painticon, Search Q. Magnificon, and Media, locking him in a floating Carcer Cell created by Painticon. Francesca said he will not leave until he finds her brother.
In the television short "Homework Monday", Francesca bugs Stanley into doing his homework, but her brother refuses because he really hates homework, calling it a "waste of time". Francesca becomes worried about Stanley getting in trouble with his teacher for not doing his homework and that he would receive an "F".
In the episode "His Room, Her Room, Our Room, Their Room", Francesca tells Stanley and apologizes for leaving him alone in his dark room on account of Stanley has scotophobia (fear of darkness) and monophobia (fear of lonesomeness).
In the episode "New School", Francesca is worried sick that her brother's new school will be worse than hers in the first day of school since moving to New World City.
